Barry M. Schwartz, MD has been in the private practice of plastic surgery since 1977.

Academic Credentials and Board Certifications

Dr. Schwartz was raised in South Florida, graduating from Miami Beach Senior High School, the University of Miami, and the University Of Miami School Of Medicine. He did his general surgery and plastic surgery training at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Schwartz served as a major in the United States Army Medical Corp from 1971 to 1973. He was board certified in general surgery in 1976 and in plastic surgery in 1978. He served as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Boston University Medical Center prior to entering private practice in South Florida in 1978.

Honors, Awards and Professional Societies

Dr. Schwartz has authored numerous scientific articles and presented at many national meetings. He serves on the advisory board of several manufacturers of plastic surgical products and is a consultant to the Universal Aid for Children. He is a member of a number of professional organizations, and has served as President of both the Greater Miami and the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons. He received the first annual Humanitarian Award from the Rotary Club of Weston after volunteering in Haiti following the earthquake in that country.
